Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation

Our Creed

The Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges and respects that each KBH Survivor has his own experience of Kinchela Boys Home.

We, the members of the Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation will listen and respect our elders, our partners, our sisters, our brothers, our staff, and respect our country and each other.

We, the men of the Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation and our families know our problems, our pain, our isolation our issues. We suffer in silence.

We, the men of the Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation will work hard to connect with our families, our communities, our culture and our neighbors.

We, the men of Kinchela Boys Home will honour ourselves and each other in support of our individual and collective journeys of healing.

We, the men of Kinchela Boys Home know and accept what is in our own heart, soul and mind. We know who we are and where we come from. We are Strong, Proud and Black.

This was taken in July 2012 at the KBH Board Meeting (absent are Archie, Kerry, Pam and Uncle Les and included are staff Chris, Ray, Mike and Tiffany McComsey)

We, the men of Kinchela Boys Home will learn together with the Australian community about understanding the grievances of Stolen Generations Issues and other deep local and national concerns.

We, the men of Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation will continue to support the human dignity of all Stolen Generations.

We, the men of the Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation acknowledge the National apology to Stolen Generations. Therefore, we will continue to pursue unfinished business and all issues of justice, genocide and reparations for Stolen Generations.

We, the men of Kinchela Boys Home will hold accountable those Governments and authorities responsible for the policies for the removal of any Aboriginal child and the loss of parental love and cultural heritage.

We, the men of Kinchela Boys Home, will honor and remember all our brothers who went before us.
